The patron of Cogorno is Saint Lawrence, celebrated on 10 August in the church that bears his name, built with its tall bell tower in the 17th century. Inside is kept a 1492 polyptych by Giovanni Mazone, showing Saint Lawrence the martyr with saints, along with a 15th-century bas-relief and a 19th-century wooden choir in the apse.
On 13 August, instead, in the black-and-white cobbled square before the Fieschi basilica of San Salvatore, the evening re-enactment of the Addiu du Fantin is held: the bachelor farewell of a count of the Fieschi family, with a sumptuous medieval banquet, a parade and dances in period costume.
