The patron saint of Carro is Saint Lawrence the martyr, celebrated on 10 August, in the parish church dedicated to him in the main hamlet, built in the 15th century.
The parents of Niccolò Paganini came from Carro: the town remembers the famous violinist with a monument, the work of the sculptor Angiolo Del Santo from 1935, and with the Paganini Festival, held every year from 14 July to 14 August with a total of nine concerts, organised by the Società dei Concerti onlus of La Spezia, whose event always invites the winner of Genoa's Paganini Prize. The town also preserves the church of San Giorgio, in the hamlet of Castello, built on the remains of the old medieval castle raised by the Fieschi family during feudal rule, and that of the Santissimo Nome di Maria, in the hamlet of Ziona, which houses a triptych from the first half of the 16th century.
