The patron of Lorsica is Saint Catherine of Genoa, celebrated on 22 March. In 1433 the Fieschi family ceded the fief of Lorsica to the Republic of Genoa, whose fortunes it followed thereafter: it was from that century, with the collaboration of Genoese artisans, that the successful silk weaving and damask production that made the town famous took hold, now told in the Damask Museum, inaugurated on 30 June 2007.
The town preserves the parish church of Nostra Signora Annunziata, built at the end of the 16th century and enlarged in the 19th century due to strong demographic growth, and that of Santa Maria Regina del Creato, in the hamlet of Barbagelata, at 1,125 metres of altitude, considered the highest church in the Ligurian Apennines: at the centre of the hamlet remain the ruins of the old church, burned in reprisal by German troops in 1944.
