The patron saint of Rovegno is Saint John the Baptist, celebrated on 24 June. Among the oldest documents concerning the town, preserved in Rovegno's parish archive and in the records of the municipality of Rapallo, are citations of Rovegno's inhabitants in a deed dated 17 July 1197, relating to an oath of fidelity to the Malaspina family of Orezzoli, today a hamlet of the municipality of Bobbio.
The main town preserves the parish church of San Giovanni Evangelista, whose present structure was built starting in 1821 and consecrated in 1878, as well as that of Sant'Antonio and the oratory of San Rocco. In the hamlet of Loco also stands the parish church of Nostra Signora della Guardia.
