The patroness of Erli is Saint Catherine of Alexandria, celebrated on 25 November. The parish church dedicated to her, in the historic centre of the town, was built around 1583, inheriting the title and sacraments from the already existing pieve of San Martino; it holds a fine late-Gothic bell tower and the processional case of the Holy Trinity, dated 1796.
The small town also paid its tribute to the Napoleonic wars: in November 1795 the territory of Erli suffered thefts and damage linked to the clashes between the French army and Austro-Sardinian troops in the battle of Loano.
