The patron saint of Castellazzo Bormida is Saint Stephen, celebrated on the Tuesday after the third Sunday of September.
The «settembre castellazzese» is the container for all the events of the town festival: it begins at the end of August with the press conference at which the festivities programme is officially presented, and ends with the pumpkin market exhibition. On the third Sunday of September, the Goose Palio is run, a folkloristic event in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, the town's central square. The town also holds the church of San Martino and the Torrione della Gattara.
