Prasco

Province: Alessandria · Region: Piedmont · Population: 552 · Postal code: 15010

Prasco stands on the hills of the Alto Monferrato, halfway between Acqui Terme and Ovada, in country where vines cover much of the slopes; in Piedmontese the village is Prasch. The castle, a feudal seat by the twelfth century, is known by the three semicircular towers along its front, and now houses the study centre for Giorgio Gallesio.

Above the roofs rises the church bell tower, with one pointed opening on each side and the bells visible behind the mesh. The spire is steep and mossy, with pinnacles at the corners; below, the shaft stays plain and plastered to the cornice.
