Saint Charles Borromeo and the vow of the 1613 siege
📅 Every year, on 4 November
On 4 November Nizza Monferrato celebrates Saint Charles Borromeo: in 1613 the town made him a vow to withstand the siege by Savoy, and ever since the lion defending the cross has been on its coat of arms.
