The patrons of Piea are Saints Philip and James, celebrated on 3 May, after whom the Chiesa dei Santi Apostoli Giacomo e Filippo and the Cappella dei Santi Filippo, Giacomo e Secondo are named.
Two festivals much felt in the town are the recent Festa delle rose (Rose Festival), at the end of May, and the by now well-established festa della zucca (pumpkin festival), of national standing, on the last weekend of September.
