Brusnengo celebrates Saint Peter on 29 June, in the parish church dedicated to him and Saint Paul.
The church of San Desiderio sits wedged among the houses. It was built in 1651 by the people of the Cantone Forte, probably against the plague then spreading through northern Italy; the devotion was older, and the pastoral visit of 1573 already recorded it.
Beside the door, in the façade, there used to be two small windows at head height: the door was often locked, and anyone passing could stop and pray looking in. They were walled up when the little square and its steps were laid out. There is no sacristy, so the vestments are kept in a walnut cupboard carved in 1692, probably by Valsesian craftsmen working nearby.
