Pray is three former comuni put together: Pray, Flecchia and Pianceri. The first had broken away from Coggiola in the eighteenth century; the other two came from the county of Crevacuore, and so from the lands of the Fieschi of Masserano.
The valley worked wool for generations. The old Zignone wool mill, known here as the Fabbrica della Ruota, has been restored and now holds exhibitions on the industrial history of these places; alongside textiles, taps and fittings are made here today.
