Valdilana

Province: Biella · Region: Piedmont · Population: 12,067 · Postal code: 13835

Valdilana came into being on 1 January 2019 through the merger of Mosso, Soprana, Trivero and Valle Mosso, four villages of the Mosso valley that together form the largest comune in the province of Biella. The name says almost everything: wool here was the economy, the landscape and the reason the settlements grew where they did, along the streams that turned the wheels.

At Trivero, at around 800 metres, stands the wool mill founded by Ermenegildo Zegna in 1910. From it came the Centro Zegna, opened in 1940 with a clinic, an indoor pool and a gym for the workers, and the Panoramica Zegna, the road begun in 1938 that climbs towards the Valsessera among red spruce, chestnuts, beeches and oaks.

📅 Every year, on 15 June
