The patroness of Castino is Saint Margaret of Antioch (santa Margherita di Antiochia), celebrated on 20 July; the co-patron is Saint Joseph (san Giuseppe). The municipality holds the parish church of Santa Margherita.
The town's calendar includes the Festa del fiore (flower festival) on the first Sunday of May, with a market of flowers and plants and, in the afternoon, a parade of floral floats. Especially in summer and autumn, shows and meetings are organised, often centred on the works of Beppe Fenoglio and Cesare Pavese.
