The patroness of Sommariva del Bosco is the Blessed Virgin, celebrated on 6 May; the sanctuary that keeps her is that of the Beata Vergine Maria di San Giovanni.
On Holy Thursday come the processions of the rabastau and of the stars, devotions that re-enact the visits to the sepulchres staged in ancient times by the confraternities of the Black Flagellants and the White Flagellants. On the second weekend of September, instead, comes Amél'Amèl — Piedmontese for «to love honey» — the honey festival, the town's most important event.
