The patron of Villar San Costanzo is Saint Constantius, celebrated on 12 September; the sanctuary of San Costanzo al Monte is also dedicated to him.
A local legend links the saint's story to the Ciciu del Villar, the unusual rock pillars capped by a boulder that give their name to the village's special nature reserve.
