Bobbio Pellice sits at the head of the Val Pellice, and its territory touches two French communes, Abriès and Ristolas, with no road between them: you cross on foot, while a car must go back towards Turin and over the Sestriere. The Occitan settlers who founded Guardia Piemontese, in Calabria, came from here, and nineteenth-century figures made the village mainly Waldensian.
The municipal arms carry the obelisk of the hamlet of Sibaud, raised in 1889 where, in the seventeenth century, the Waldensians led by Henri Arnaud pledged to keep union and solidarity among themselves. It stands on a base of roughly squared blocks, with names cut into the stone.
