Feast of Saints Eusebio and Pietro
📅 Every year, on 1 August
On 1 August Cuceglio, a municipality of 997 inhabitants in the province of Turin, celebrates its patron saints Eusebio and Pietro.
Cuceglio stands on the morainic hills of the Canavese, where the vine has long ruled: its most distinctive wine is Erbaluce, named after the grape. In the main square is the first monument raised in Italy to king Umberto I, with an oak planted behind it for the queen.
The village splits into two quarters, the Gui below and the Riva above, which holds the sanctuary of the Beata Vergine Addolorata, built between 1747 and 1758; from up there the Canavese plain opens as far as Turin. The Cascine Cuffia sit apart, towards the flat. The arms show an angel with a palm, taken from the statue on the sanctuary balustrade.
