Feast of Saints Filippo and Giacomo
📅 Every year, on 1 May
On 1 May Rueglio, a municipality of 773 inhabitants in the province of Turin, celebrates its patron saints Filippo and Giacomo.
Rueglio lies in the Val Chiusella, on the right bank of the Chiusella torrent that gives the valley its name. The village never came down to the valley floor: it stopped higher up, away from the water, leaning against the mountainside, with woodland closing in on every side.
Seen from the ridges that close the valley it reads as one block: grey roofs touching, houses packed against each other, the bell tower barely rising above them. All around, the woods climb the slope to the top, broken here and there by a meadow or a clearing.
