The name of Vistrorio, in the Val Chiusella, goes back to the Latin Vicus Subterior, the lower village: until the fourteenth century it told the place apart from Vicus Superior, today's Vico Canavese. The arms alternate a gold tower with Guelph merlons and a human eye. The tower recalls a vanished castle whose name still marks a locality of the comune; the eye probably alludes to the watch over the land that position allowed, against enemies from the plain.
San Bartolomeo's parish church goes back to the fourteenth century. Below the houses runs the Chiusella, spanned by a stone bridge whose piers stand among the boulders; downstream it is dammed into Lake Gurzia.
