San Germano Chisone lies in the Val Chisone, on the stream of the same name. It took its present shape in 1954: Pramollo, joined to it in 1927, went back to being a comune of its own, while Inverso Porte, joined a year later, stayed.
On the arms the water of the Chisone runs in wavy bands: it is the asset the local economy rested on, farming first, then industry. With the water there is a toad, out of local legend and out of the nickname of the inhabitants: around here they are the babi, the toads.
