On 20 August Vauda Canavese, a municipality of 1,465 inhabitants in the metropolitan city of Turin, celebrates its patron San Bernardo.
Vauda Canavese has no single centre: the comune is held together by three clearly separate settlements, Vauda Superiore, which serves as the seat today, Vauda Inferiore and Palazzo Grosso. The oldest appears to be Vauda Inferiore, once called Vauda 'd Front; if so, the seat is not where the village began.
The parish church is dedicated to Saint Bernard of Clairvaux. Part of the municipal territory is taken up by the Vauda nature reserve, which carries the same name as the comune itself.
