Villanova Canavese is a comune in the metropolitan city of Turin; the second half of its name places it in the Canavese, and in Piedmontese it is Vilaneuva Canavèis. In front of the parish church the road widens into a paved forecourt, and the low houses run down the side street.
The church of San Massimo Vescovo has a pale yellow front with flat pilasters under a pediment, a niche with the statue of the bishop, and a small porch on two stone columns. Beside it rises the bell tower, brick and river stone, with two clock faces and the belfry under a jutting cap.
