Quagliuzzo

Province: Turin · Region: Piedmont · Population: 331 · Postal code: 10010

Quagliuzzo, Quajuss in Piedmontese, is a small commune of the Canavese, in the metropolitan city of Turin. For eighteen years it did not exist: in 1929 a royal decree merged it with Loranzè, Colleretto Giacosa, Parella and Strambinello into one municipality called Pedanea, and only on 23 August 1947 did the five recover their separate identities.

Its arms are divided green and blue, with a gold scallop shell across the line and a red chief bearing a silver cross; the banner is yellow edged with green. The old parish church and its bell tower stopped serving the village in 1970, when a new one designed by Giovanni Picco took their place.
