On 23 April Tricerro, a municipality of 709 inhabitants in the province of Vercelli, celebrates its patron Saint George, to whom the parish church is dedicated.
The arms of Tricerro are a single tree: on a silver field a Turkey oak torn up by the roots, with just three branches spread like a fan and leaved in green, and along the bottom, in black letters, the words TRIBVS CERRI, Latin for those three oaks. The gonfalon is divided green and white.
The church of San Giorgio fuori le mura is a block of bare brick with no plaster: the front wall curves, the triangular pediment shows behind it, a small grated window sits above the green door and a wrought-iron cross stands on top. A stump of older wall leans against its side.
