The patron saint of Modugno is Saint Nicholas of Tolentino, whose feast is celebrated jointly with that of Saint Roch of Montpellier, the town's protector: the two saints are celebrated together from the Friday before the fourth Sunday of September to the following Monday. The celebrations include both popular events, held on the Sunday, and religious celebrations, which open on the Friday and close on the Monday, unfolding across the whole weekend.
Among the town's most significant places of worship are the church of Santa Maria del Suffragio, the church of Sant'Agostino, the church of San Giovanni Battista and the church of Santa Maria Immacolata, testimony to a long religious tradition accompanying the Modugno community through the centuries.
