The patrons of Bosa are Saints Emilius and Priamus, celebrated on 28 May. Their statues crown, together with that of the Immaculate Virgin, the 17th-century marble high altar of the co-cathedral of the Immacolata Concezione.
The church that holds them is the city's third cathedral: after San Pietro extra muros, built between 1053 and 1073 near the Roman bridge, and after the parish and the baptistery passed to the church of Santa Maria in 1595, from 1803 the chapter entrusted the rebuilding to the local master builder Salvatore Are, and that is what you see today.
