On the third Sunday of April Donori celebrates Saint George the bishop, first bishop of the diocese of Suelli, who died on 23 April 1117, to whom the town's main church is dedicated: the saint's statue is carried through the streets in a large procession accompanied by songs in the Sardinian language, and in the past the feast also served to bless the coming spring harvests.
The most important feast, and the one most followed by the people of Donori, is however that of the Madonna de Sa Defenza, on the third weekend of September, with the statue carried on Saturday afternoon to the country chapel two kilometres from the town; at the end of July the Sagra dell'Emigrato (Emigrants' Festival) is held, organised by the Pro Loco.
