Zahar Festival

📍 Sambuca di Sicilia · Agrigento · Sicily

Two evenings of wine and music in the Saracen alleys: more than twenty Belìce Valley wineries pour at the tasting stands, local produce fills the stalls, and eight drummers close the night in Piazza Baldi Centellis.

The festival debuted on 8 and 9 August 2026, launched by the town council to open a year of celebrations marking ten years since Sambuca won the «Borgo dei Borghi» title as Italy's most beautiful village in 2016. The first evening takes over the Saracen alleys, the core of the old Arab quarter, with activities for children too; the second is given over to the «Notti del Vino» — wine nights of tastings and live music.

More than twenty wineries from the Belìce Valley and the Terre Sicane pour at the stands — Cellaro, Planeta, Donnafugata and Feudo Arancio among them — alongside local food producers. The closing act belongs to eight drummers led by Angelo Spataro, playing Piazza Baldi Centellis from 11.30pm deep into the night.
