The patron of Nicolosi is Saint Anthony of Padua, celebrated on 13 June. The town reserves him a second date as well, 19 February, the anniversary of the finding of the saint's incorrupt tongue: an occasion that passes almost unnoticed elsewhere.
The Nicolosi calendar is busy earlier in the year too: from 8 to 16 January comes the novena preparing for Saint Anthony the Abbot, feasted on the 16th and 17th, and in March it is Saint Joseph's turn, with the fercolo carried through the streets and the auction in the square of the produce gathered during the procession.
