Located 40 kilometres southwest of Messina and 150 kilometres east of Palermo, Mazzarrà Sant'Andrea is a municipality with 1,567 inhabitants. In the Sicilian language, the town is known simply as Mazzarrà.
The municipal territory shares borders with five neighbouring areas: Furnari, Novara di Sicilia, Rodì Milici, Terme Vigliatore, and Tripi. It belongs administratively to the Metropolitan City of Messina.
