The patron saint of Sant'Agata di Militello is Saint Joseph, celebrated twice a year: on 19 March, the liturgical date, and again on the second Sunday of August. Numerous traditions are tied to the town's summer: on the first Sunday of August the procession of Mary Most Holy of the Sea is held on boats, while on 13 December Saint Lucy is celebrated.
Among the most cherished events is also the Historic Fair, one of the most important fairs in the area, held alongside the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the first Sunday of July. The town preserves traces of its past in the Gallego castle and in the mother church, while other places of worship, such as the church of the Madonna del Carmelo and the church of Santa Lucia, dot the historic centre.
