The patron saint of Tortorici is Saint Sebastian, whose actual feast is celebrated every year on 20 January. The long celebration in his honour, however, already begins on the first of January, with the ringing of the bell and the exposition of the saint to the town: the first event is the Bula, which falls on the Saturday closest to the feast. The preceding Sunday, on returning from the procession of Saint Anthony Abbot, the devotees begin the Sfilata dell'Alloro along the town's streets up to the church of Santa Maria Assunta.
Devotees fulfilling a vow go «bare» to the saint: as a sign of penance, the men dress in white with shirt and trousers, and a handkerchief folded in a triangular shape. Tortorici also preserves Lake Trearie, the church of the Most Holy Saviour, the Chapel of the Three Virgins, and the church of San Nicolò.
