The annual festival of San Calogero marks the main gathering of San Salvatore di Fitalia, a small Sicilian town in the Metropolitan City of Messina. Home to 1,378 residents, the community is known locally by its Sicilian name, Santu Sarvaturi.
Geographically positioned 70 kilometres west of Messina and 120 kilometres east of Palermo, the municipal territory borders the surrounding towns of Castell'Umberto, Frazzanò, Galati Mamertino, Mirto, Naso, and Tortorici.
