Cefalù Carnival

📍 Cefalù · Palermo · Sicily

In the run-up to Lent, Cefalù fills with masks, confetti and events for children. The town hall builds the programme from proposals by local associations and parishes; the 2026 edition ran 12-17 February.

In the last days before Lent the town centre belongs to masks and confetti. The programme is built from the ground up: the municipality collects proposals from cultural, musical and sports associations and from parish youth groups, with children very much the intended audience.

The 2026 edition ran from 12 to 17 February, Fat Thursday to Shrove Tuesday, with parades and events across town. The dates shift every year with the liturgical calendar.
