The patron saint of Contessa Entellina is Saint Nicholas of Myra, celebrated on 6 December. For his feast, the town's Arbëreshë tradition, a community of Albanian origin, calls for the preparation of Bukiçelet e Shën Kollit, sweets made of water and flour, without salt or yeast: the dough is taken up by hand and portioned according to a rite handed down from generation to generation.
Contessa Entellina's religious calendar also includes two other observances: 8 September, the feast of the Madonna della Favara, and Epiphany, when the blessing of the waters is celebrated at the public fountain «biveri», commemorating the baptism of Jesus. The municipal territory also includes the abbey of Santa Maria del Bosco, the castle of Entella and the castle of Calatamauro.
