On 18 May 1897 Francesco Rosario Capra was born here: in America he would sign himself Frank Capra, and he left the town as a child with his family. In the coat of arms there is a three-tier fountain: canting arms, bis-aqua, water twice over.
The town clings to the slopes of Monte Triona, 1,215 metres of limestone, and stands at around 700 metres above the sea. Until 1778 it belonged to the archbishop of Monreale, who had been given it by William II: hence the eight-pointed star of Monreale in the arms too. Its gardens produce an onion recognised as a traditional product. There are 4,829 residents.

Bisacquino celebrates Saint Rosalia on 4 September; the cathedral of San Giovanni Battista, rebuilt in 1720, holds the tomb of the venerable Monsignor Giovanni Bacile, while the chapel of the Madonna del Balzo preserves an ancient local devotion.
