Between Ferla and neighbouring Sortino lies the Necropolis of Pantalica, an ancient rock-cut cemetery included in the UNESCO World Heritage list alongside the city of Syracuse.

On 20 July Ferla celebrates Saint Sebastian in the church that bears his name. But the town's most deeply felt feast is Easter, with processions that no longer exist elsewhere.
