The patron saint of Bibbiena is Saint Hippolytus, celebrated on 13 August.
Every year the town celebrates its historic carnival, known as the «Carnevale della Mea», whose roots go back to 1337 and are tied to the medieval popular legend of la Mea. On the last day of Carnival, Shrove Tuesday, the traditional propitiatory rite of the «bello pomo» is performed, in which the town's eldest resident burns a juniper in the centre of the «piazzolina» (Piazza Roma). From June to September, the Italian Photography Festival is also held, in collaboration with FIAF. The town holds the Convent of San Lorenzo and the Sanctuary of Santa Maria del Sasso.
