The patron saint of Aulla is Saint Caprasius, celebrated on 1 June in the Abbey of San Caprasio; joined to the religious celebrations is a fair, held all day through the central streets of the town.
The town organizes the Palio della Rosa every year, a series of contests among the districts formed by the comune's hamlets, and the Premio Lunezia, an important festival dedicated to singer-songwriters, which has honoured names such as Caparezza, Ligabue, Elisa and Anna Oxa. The town also holds the Fortress of Brunella and the Sanctuary of the Madonna degli Angeli.
