The patroness of Castiglione del Lago is Saint Mary Magdalene, celebrated on 22 July in the church dedicated to her.
The town is known for the Tulip Festival, which has received the important Heritage of Italy recognition for tradition. Since July 2015, the Scarecrow Festival has also been held, with a historical re-enactment of threshing and the Festa del Borgo Ghiotto through the streets of the historic centre. The town also holds the Palazzo della Corgna and the Rocca del Leone.
