Allerona celebrates Saint Ansanus on 1 December; the town, once a stronghold of Orvieto towards Chiusi, is today the westernmost municipality of Umbria and one of only four whose territory borders two different regions, Lazio and Tuscany.

The patron saint of Allerona is Saint Ansanus, celebrated on 1 December. The town was once a stronghold of Orvieto towards Chiusi, and is today the westernmost municipality in the Umbria region: it shares with Norcia, Città di Castello and San Giustino the distinction of being one of only four Umbrian municipalities whose territory borders two different regions, precisely the Lazio municipality of Acquapendente, in the province of Viterbo, and the Tuscan municipality of San Casciano dei Bagni, in the province of Siena.

Allerona also celebrates Saint Isidore, patron of farmers, on the third Sunday of May: by tradition, on this occasion «Pugnaloni» are displayed, allegorical carts depicting scenes of rural life, each also bearing the saint's miracle, shown in prayer while an angel works the land in his place. The town also preserves the church of Sant'Abbondio, that of the Madonna dell'Acqua and that of San Michele Arcangelo.
