The patron saint of Giove is Saint John the Baptist, celebrated on 24 June.
The town's most significant monument, which also gives the municipality its name, dates from 1191 but was deeply remodelled in the 17th century by the Mattei family: the imposing castle still dominates the small Umbrian settlement today. Among the other religious buildings are the church of Santa Maria Assunta, built by the same Mattei family in the 18th century, the church of the Madonna del Perugino, and the church now used as a war memorial, dedicated to Saint Roch, which holds 16th-century frescoes inside.
