The Sagra de San Doane, dedicated to the patron Saint John the Baptist, is the town's most important one and is celebrated on 24 June, with Mass in the archpriest's church; during the feast the market stalls are set up along the main streets, while in the square stand the tent of local food and wine and the funfair.
The town's calendar also includes the Žinghenésta, on the last Sunday of carnival, with a parade of characters in old masks of the Ladin carnival who march through the Valle del Biois and gather in Canale with dancing in the square and the «trial of Carnival»; on Easter Day there is El Tiro al Vof, a centuries-old tradition in which hard-boiled eggs are used as targets. On 26 August, in the square, Mass is celebrated for the anniversary of the election of Pope John Paul I.
