Bovolone earned a sweet place in regional lore through the invention of the Offella d'oro. Conceived by a local pastry shop, this buttery, pandoro-like cake remains the signature treat of a municipality of just under 16,000 residents, located 25 kilometers southeast of Verona.
The town's medieval origins trace back to the ancient Castrum Bodoloni, while its agricultural roots are honored at the Fiera di San Biagio, an agro-tech fair held continuously since 1278.
