Read more →Lusiana Conco has 4,946 inhabitants on the southern side of the plateau of the Seven Comuni and was born on 20 February 2019 from the merger of Lusiana and Conco. The name is the sum of the two, and the coat of arms, granted in 2023, is the sum of the two old ones: on one side the crescent moon of Diana, because a legend derives Lusiana from Lucus Dianae, the wood of Diana, worshipped on Monte Cornione; on the other the peaks and the halberd of Conco.
The comune owns two large portions of mountain which, however, lie inside the boundaries of Asiago. It is the inheritance of the Regency of the Seven Comuni: when in 1925 the collective goods were divided, the assignment was made by drawing lots, and Lusiana was given two strips in the north-western part of the plateau, while its own territory lies to the south-east. Among those lands is Cima XII, the highest mountain in the province of Vicenza: the comune owns it without having it within its borders.
