The patroness of Etroubles is Mary Most Holy Assumed, celebrated on 15 August. The parish church dedicated to her, from 1815, stands on the promontory of La Tour, where the old tower of Étroubles once stood, belonging to the «de La Tour» family, which died out in the mid-15th century: the stones of the tower, once destroyed, were used to build the church itself. In the main village the Romanesque bell tower, built in 1400, still stands today, belonging to a church that has since vanished.
In the hamlet of Vachéry stands, since the Middle Ages, an important tower known as the Tour de la Vachère, built in the 12th century on Roman foundations; climbing from the village towards Vachéry one also finds the first rotating dairy of the Aosta Valley, dating from 1853. The town is also known for the Carnival of the Coumba Freida, during which the Landzette parade, the traditional masks inspired by the uniforms of the Napoleonic troops that sowed terror as they passed through in May 1800.
