The patron saint of Palestrina is Saint Agapitus the martyr, venerated in the cathedral dedicated to him: the feast in his honour, the town's most important, is usually held from 17 to 19 August every year. The town's co-patron is Saint Rosalia, celebrated on 4 September.
The various religious celebrations go hand in hand with the Palio di Sant'Agapito, known in dialect as «Lo palio»: a contest among the town's four historic districts, which through various competitions vie for the banner. The town also holds the Palazzo Colonna Barberini and the church of Sant'Antonio Abate.
