The patrons of Arenzano are Saints Nazarius and Celsus, celebrated on 28 July with major celebrations: the streets fill with stalls of every kind, processions wind through the town, and the evening ends with fireworks.
The parish church dedicated to them is a Baroque reconstruction, to a design by the architect Antonio Maria Ricca, of an old place of worship; the high altar dates from 1582. Beside it stands an oratory built in the 15th century, which still keeps the furnishings used in the procession rite and the wooden groups of statues and crucifixes of the confraternity that shares its name.
