The patroness of Castiglione Chiavarese is the Madonna del Carmine, celebrated on 16 July. The parish church of the main village is dedicated to Sant'Antonino the Martyr; raised to the title of provostry by the archbishop of Genoa, Cardinal Placido Maria Tadini, on 3 July 1834, it holds on its bell tower a chime of five bells, cast by the Francesco Picasso foundry of Recco in 1898.
In the hamlet of Masso stands the sanctuary of Our Lady of Loreto, on a hill overlooking a wide panorama of the Petronio valley: the first document attesting its presence dates from 1582, while the current structure is from the 19th century; the solemn celebrations in her honour are held every year on the third Sunday of May. In the same area of Monte Loreto lies the oldest copper archaeo-mining site in Western Europe, whose activity dates back to the early 4th millennium BC and continues with phases datable up to the 19th-century industrial era, when the Galleria XX Settembre was worked from 1855 to 1910: the museum complex today includes the archaeo-mining museum, the site with the prehistoric mine and the 19th-century one, partly open to visitors.
