The patron of Favale di Malvaro is Our Lady of the Rosary, celebrated on the first Sunday of October, in the sanctuary dedicated to her, set on a hillock and dating from the 17th century: the church, originally a parish dedicated to the patron Saint Vincent, whose feast is still celebrated on 19 January, was raised in 2003 by the diocese of Chiavari to the status of diocesan sanctuary of Nostra Signora del Rosario.
In the hamlet of Accereto, in an 18th-century building, stands the Casa Giannini museum, the paternal home of Amadeo Peter Giannini (San Jose, 1870 – San Mateo, 1949), who in 1904 founded the Bank of Italy, later becoming Bank of America: regarded as one of the greatest bankers in the world, he financed small entrepreneurs and major projects, including the Golden Gate Bridge and films by Charlie Chaplin and Disney. The museum's rooms, arranged in 1983, preserve original 19th-century furnishings alongside documents and photographs on the history of local emigration between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, which the town commemorates every year, on the last Sunday of June, with the Giornata dell'Emigrante.
